Arabic News Report: Hostage Deadline Extended

Seoul, South Korea -- Still no definitive word, but there are reports a South Korean hostage in Iraq is alive. The Arabic TV channel Al-Arabiya says the man's captors have extended a deadline they had set on his life.

The network provided no other details.

The kidnappers had originally said they'd behead the contractor by sunset Monday unless the South Korean government agreed not to deploy troops to Iraq. Seoul refused to meet the demand.

Meantime, the chief of a South Korean security firm says his Iraqi business partner has contacted the kidnappers, and confirmed that the hostage was still alive, after the deadline had passed. He says the Iraqi was trying to negotiate the man's release.

How to stop this:

For every civilian hostage that's beheaded, drag 6 of our captive terrorists in front of a wall accented with shackles, upon which they are chained.

As they stand there smirking and grinning amonst themselves thinking about the 6 dozen virgins they are about to meet, drag a live pig out in front of them. Slaughter the pig (humanely), and fill a large salad bowl with it's blood and entrails.

Dump a box of live ammunition into the gore.

Enter the firing squad with empty weapons, which will be filled with the pig-blood bullets.

Execute them.

(It should be noted here, that these bullets, or more accurately the blood on the bullets, will NULLIFY their martyr status. These people believe that if they come into contact with swine, deliberately or incidentally, they are denied entry into whatever their version of heaven is. No virgins. No rivers of wine. No gold.)

Video tape the executions, broadcast it on Al Jazeera.

I figure after this happens a couple - maybe three times - progress, REAL progress will be made toward this terrorist threat.

Maybe now South Korea will send in a few hundred ROK Marines and show these terrorists what real fear is all about.

Closest I've lost is...

...my dads dad back in '77 and his mom a few years ago.

I think your dad lived a good life and I know he knows what he meant to you.

That's everything. He lives in you.

Oh, I know he had a very full and interesting life, just wish it had lasted longer. Too many things that I needed to say that never got said. I tried my best those last few moments I was alone with him, but it just wasn't enough (at least for me).

Hopefully the pain will ease soon, it's just been tough and has me second guessing a lot of what I had done (or not done) over the years. It certainly has me re-evaluating a lot about life itself.
