School Says Halloween Disrespectful to Witches

I guess we don't want to offend any green-skined, straw-haired, wart-nosed, pointy-hat-wearing broom jockeys.

Every day we take one step closer to duck-taping our bubble-wrapped selves to the floor.

I didn't think it would come to this. I've met a couple of Wiccans, but these were more rational people that the ones in the article. I'm used to seeing complaints that Halloween somehow promotes Satanism. I feel like grabbing both types of complainers and reading them the riot act: "Look, you morons, Halloween is just a big party! The witch imagery doesn't have anything to do with either Wiccanism or Satanism, it's just make-believe from medieval fairy tales! Witchcraft does not exist and it never will, so lighten up!"

Sorry, needed to vent there...

Noah asked me the other day what I was going to be for Halloween. I told him I was already a witch. This was all within earshot of my dad who hollars out "And she doesn't even have to dress up!" So now my son is telling everyone that "Mommy is going to be a witch and she doesn't even have to dress up!"

The kid is smart I tell ya!
