Angry Jimmy Carter should stick to farming peanuts

I see that Jimmy Carter has awaken from his thirty-year slumber to comment on Bush.

What a joke....

All this coming from a guy who left hostages in Iran while he sat on his thumbs. WHAT A !!!!

The US "suffered, in 9/11, a terrible and shocking attack ... and George Bush has been adroit at exploiting that attack, and he has elevated himself, in the consciousness of many Americans, to a heroic commander-in-chief, fighting a global threat against America," Mr Carter says.

Do they really expect Bush to not to mention 9/11 and the ensuing shenanigans during this election?

If I wrote application software that netted my company billions of dollars, I guaratee you I'd put it on my resume - if, by some incredible chance, I actually needed a resume after something like that.

Kerry mentions his "war-hero" status every 15 minutes. Doesn't that mean that he's shamelessly eploiting the pain and suffering caused by the Viet-Nam war for his own political gain?

Sounds like he is!

And Carter - the worst president of the 20th Century - shouldn't even be allowed to watch the news, much less be in it, commenting on presidential maneuvering.

Jimmy is just telling it like it is. Only a Republican like Bush would try to capitalize on American's lost on 9/11. Shame on Bush.

So we're supposed to believe that no Democrat would ever exploit the suffering of others for his or her own gain? That, more than anything else, is why I dread political campaigns. The infuriating good-versus-evil attitude. Each party argues that if it's elected, the US will become a paradise where the rivers will run gold. And each argues that if the other party is elected, civilization will collapse and vultures will be feasting on our stinking corpses.

Carter did nothing for this country when he HAD the chance.... He's got a lot of nerve commenting on someone who is doing something....

Carter is a jerk and has no business talking politics considering he was the worst president the past 100-years has seen. To let 100 people sit as hostages for over a year.

I just wonder what you would be saying if that were happening today under Bush's watch????

As a matter of fact, what would you say?????

At least they weren't decapitated. At least they saw their families again. I can't say that about too many hostages in Iraq now. Most of those bodies are found without heads. So that is more of an accomplishment to you? Bodies without heads?

Lightbulb Did you forget....

Did you forget?????

Carter had NOTHING to do with the release of these hostages.... He was no longer President when they were released, duh....

However, Carter did do a good job of killing eight of our guys and injuring another four in a last-ditch "I want to get re-elected" try at getting the hostages....

Hip-hip-horray for his efforts!!! Yeah, I'm on board with that-NOT!!!

Weren't the hostages released on the day of Reagan's inauguration? I'm sure that Reagan put forth such an effort on the day he was sworn in that the Iranians were cowed into giving up the hostages. Or maybe it was how he agreed to their demands even before he got in office. So much for all that "we will not give in to terrorists" crap I had to hear throughout the 80s.

Oh please.

He's not doing anything of the sort.

I am no fan of Bush's - in fact, I can't stand him - but you Kerrycrats are really reaching with this one. He was president when a (echo-chamber) MAJOR HISTORIC EVENT(*) took place. And then he handled it. (Whether you agree with the way he handled it is absolutely immaterial in this discussion - but he did handle it.)

By mentioning this (echo-chamber) MAJOR HISTORIC EVENT(*) and saying: "Here's what happened, and here's what I did about it", it is in no way exploitation. It is in no way capitalizing on the event.

Saying that it is exploitation is nothing more than "playing politics".

Saying that this is exploitatin - as I said before - is the same as if I were to impune Kerry and say that he's capitalizing on the Vietnam war, due to his incessant self-aggrandizing horn blowing.
