Rick in the Walking Dead could have used the hell out of one of these last week. Was surrounded by walkers (zombies) and ran out of bullets. Was reduced to using his pistol as a club, a short, unwieldy club.

Of course, taking the knife off the pistol would be best, I think, but the imagery is cooler this way

for those that play video games

Borderlands 2 has a collection on pistols that have knives on the front that to increased melee damage ....


but there was a Bowie Knife in the 1800's that also had a single shot pistol built in the top

or maybe the pistol had a large blade underneath
