Question Crying it out

Just wondering what other parents think of this? If you are for it, at what age do you think is appropriate?

If you are against it, why?

I'm not asking to start a debate, I just want honest opinions.

Docs always told me that 10 minutes of crying was good for the baby. According to them, it is good for their lungs. Mine never cried much more.

Yes. As soon as you bring them home...let them cry within reason.

We're going to have our kid's barker removed.

Depends on the age and circumstances. My kid will be one next week and has been sick so I don't let him cry anything out because he doesn't feel good and just wants to be cuddled.

If he is perfectly well and I put him in bed and he just doesn't want to be there I let him cry for about 10 or so minutes, go in there, lay him back down (because usually he is standing up), give him his binky back (because usually he has thrown it out of the crib) and walk out. Depends on what kind of mood he is in how many times I have to do this. Usually I don't have to but every now and then I make an appearance about 1 or 2 times.
