The law states that a child can not be left alone in the house who is under 8 years of age. I don't think it states anything about children being out in their yard without supervision. If it does I guess I am breaking the law because my kids are outside on our property all the time and I am not out their physically with them.

My mom used to lock me out of the house when I was a kid. No one believes me

I believe you. I happened to me as well. She also would make my sister and I take our fistfights outside. That took all the fun out of it.

If it bothers you soo much, have you tried approaching/contacting one of the adults that “lives” in the house and expressing your concern over the lack of supervision of the children?

Yep. Or, rather, they approached me...when I almost ran over their kid in the street because the 3 year old darted out from behind one of their cars and I slammed on the brakes. The heffer of an old lady came screaming at me telling me to

"Watch where the #### I was going and slow the #### down" Mind you, I was going about 15 miles an hour or however fast you go without touching the pedal after making a turn about 20 feet away while dodging cars parked along both sides of the 2 lane street.

After apologizing multiple times and continuosly getting cussed at, I kindly suggested she keep her spawns tied to a leash.

Prince William County in VA is attempting to crack down on the number of unrelated adults living in a home since many immigrants (mostly illegal) tend to live this way in expensive counties. It has more to do with them driving down property values and crime than the welfare of the children living there. If that were the only issue, I say leave it alone as the children are probably okay in that environment. If these neighbors are a nuisance (noise, cars, trash, etc.), call the cops. If the children are running loose and unsupervised in the street, and your "suggestion" to the parents is ignored, I would call CPS if it continues. I guarantee the parents will sue if one of their little darlings gets hit.
