You Should Try Applying At The Public School Anyway, We Did Not Qualify Either, But Since They Did Not Fill Up My Daughter Was Accepted. And Let Me Tell You It Has Done Wonders For, She Will Definately Be More Prepared When She Starts K In The Fall, Compared To If She Had Not. Good Luck!!

My son didn't get in until the week after school started because the class didn't fill up either. I had him signed up at St. Andrew's Church just in case though. They are not bad on prices but it sounds like you are in Calvert.

Most schools have done or are doing registration right now. Just call the school that he/she would be going to and ask about it.

Yes, that's late, but they can give you an idea when you apply, what your chances are.

Before my son got into the public pre-k, he went to "Helping Hands", which is a pre-k program run through Patuxent HS. The kids there that are studying Early Childhood Education have to come up with the lesson plans and work with the kids. There was like one student teacher for every 2-3 kids and they were really good with the kids. The lady who ran it (I can't remember her name) kept all the girls in line and didn't allow for any monkey business. It was only like $35/month. It was only part-time, though -- something like 3 hours, 3 days a week or something. Sorry -- it's been a few years. You could try calling the high school, though and see if they still have it.
