I knew an old lady...

who swallowed a fly. I don't know why she swallowed a fly. Perhaps she'll die.

According to boy, it's now "Perhaps she'll cry." Even boy thinks the change is silly.

So what did they do about the last line, "she's dead, of course"?

When the world went PC.

One of the trendiest children's music performers out today is "Dr. Jean." She has the old woman crying. Dr. Jean makes me want to Think Edith from "All in the Family" trying to sing.

But the old woman who swallows the fly doesn't die and the wolf locks grandma it the closet when Red Ridinghood is on her way.

I have that old song in my head now... I knew an old lady.. she made me nervous... something, something and she fed me breakfast... something something .. in the land under...

Its bad enough having a song stuck in your head let alone one where you only know half the words

We were just talking about this the other day!! Well not this song but the Raining song:

How I learned it:
"It's raining, it's pouring, the old man is snoring
He went to bed and bumped his head
And his DID NOT wake up in the morning"

New Version same except the last line:
And he did not wake up UNTIL morning
