Did I screw up?

Oldest is singing tonight at PES with the chorus. He has to wear navy blue pants and white shirt. I told him that he didn't need to wear it to school and that he can change clothes for the program tonight. I got an email this morning from husband saying that son was freaking out about it and that his teacher told him that if they were not dressed properly, they could not sing. He also mentioned to husband that they are singing for the school today.

Is any one else's kid doing this? Did I screw up and he was suppose to wear his "performance" out-fit to school or did I assume right and he won't be able to sing tonight if he's not dressed right???? I'm beginning to worry that I might have a crying kid at school because he can't sing for the students.

Sometimes they have a performance for the school during school hours.

No, there's nothing I can do about it now. I just wanted to find out if other parents sent their kid in regular clothes, thinking the same thing I did. Just wanted to ease my mind.

Yes, I know but they've always worn regular clothes for the school time one. They only have to dress up for the evening one for the parents. With what my son told my husband, I'm thinking it changed and they have to dress up for both.

Awww, I hope it turns out alright.
I remember working my butt off for a play in 2nd grade. My mother got the time wrong for the evening performance and we ended up missing it. It was over when we arrived. Broke my heart. Boy did I cry! Trauma, I tell ya.

Call them anyway, perhaps there was a notice you didn't receive.
The teacher should be aware that he tried to wear it and you didn't allow it especially if he was told to. They need to know he tried to follow their directions.
