There is PRIDE (Parent Resources for Information, Development, and Education) training that is offered in every county, if anyone is interested, contact your local department of social services.

As a side note the State of Maryland is really in need of foster parents and is now even offering a "recruitment bonus" for current foster parents who can sign on new families. And I think they are begining ot offer "foster parties" - you know like Tupperware parties, you invite over all your friends and a worker comes to your home to give everyone all the information they will need to begin the process.

Advocates for better foster care say they are worried that the state is not moving fast enough to find new foster families and move away from group homes, which critics say cost more and do not always meet neglected and abused children's needs.
