Weaning sucks!

Since my son is almost 18 months old and AF visited me yesterday for the first time since getting preggo with him I have decided force weaning is the only way it is going to be done. I thought gradually cutting back would lead to self weaning but no he is being subborn about it. I guess he got more than just his looks from his daddy.

Now he is screaming at me but will not let me touch or hold him and my tata's hurt like heck.

boys are harder than girls, it's always war to cut boys off. Hold in there and stick to your guns. Hot compresses for the tatas. Good Luck!

My daughter was forced weaned but not by choice. I just stopped producing. I felt like the biggest failure when that happen.

Mine all self weaned. Offer him a cup often and try having someone else put him to sleep if he's used to nursing before bed.

Don't continue pumping or your milk will continue producing. It'll be a rough few days for you. Tight binding will help. If you have an ace bandage around, wrap it tightly around you and use ice packs, not hot packs. The hot packs will encourge them to leak and they're good for blockages, not weaning.
