Almost ONE?!?

Well, next week my sweet little baby will be ELEVEN months old which means he'll be ONE, that's a WHOLE YEAR OLD, in just over a month. Where does the time go??

So, of course I'm thinking "birthday party". Our house is too small so we're having it at the community center in our neighborhood...it's really nice. I want to do a cute theme and have some ideas but I thought you guys might think of something I haven't come up with. Or, you might think one of my ideas is completely stupid

Cute as a Button: I saw some cute invitations "cute as a button and so much fun, our sweet little baby is turning one", we could have cupcakes with chocolate/candy buttons, button cookies, birthday hats decorated with buttons, etc

In a Flash: This would be a picture type theme. I could have pictures of his first year hanging on a line, maybe set up a little photo type booth (nothing crazy, I'm "making" this LOL), I'll make a time capsule to include things from his first year and notes from everyone at his first birthday party (I might do this regardless of what "theme" we do).

Winter ONEderland: Think snowflakes, snowmen, s'mores, hot chocolate, red, white and turquoise.

Though I'm sure most any theme can be taylored to the childs age, I think some of the other ideas I was thinking of would be better for when he's a little older...crayons/colors, milk & cookies, little squirt, dr. suess., candyland, circus, etc.

I'm ready to plan a party!

I kind of like the Winter Onederland theme better and you can still incorporate the pictures, but both are cute ideas. I haven't done a one-year-old party in 12 years, so I wouldn't know what to tell you except whatever you do, please do not expect the adults to wear those pointy party hats.

Can't believe he is almost 1!!

I like both ideas! And he really is cute as a button The winter onderland one is cute but after Christmas, people are sick of looking at all the winter-themed things and such.

Oh they will wear them and they will LOVE them! j/k!!

I like the Winter Onderland theme because of the "One" thing BUT he can't really 'enjoy' the 'wintery' stuff that I imagine would make it extra awesome. Maybe I can do that in a few years?? Though it obviously couldn't be a ONEderland party, which basically sucks

Dammit, I was really hoping the first comment would be something like "OMG I love love LOVE the buttons idea" ((womp womp))

I have no doubts that he's cute as a button, but what FUN is a button, reminds me of a choking hazard and not much fun to play with JMO

What fun is a button? What fun is a button?? WHAT FUN IS A BUTTON?!

While I do agree, I wouldn't have lose buttons laying around. This is the site I found with that idea: big K little k: {keniston's 1st birthday party} - cute as a button

I feel like I'm "routing" for the button theme, haha...but I'm good with either of the 3 ideas I mentioned, or maybe another idea. I really REALLY like the Winter ONEderland theme, I'm just thinking that I might want to do something like that in a few years when he can partake in the hot chocolate and melty marshmallow fun and I don't want to have the same type of party in a such a short time. I'm a weirdo, I know
