Grandma ended rowdy sleepover, threw them out

Cops: Grandmother ended rowdy sleepover, told kids to walk home alone - U.S. News

A rowdy sleepover party in Connecticut ended with a grandmother in handcuffs on Sunday morning.

Middletown police charged 71-year old Barbara Aiello with two counts of risk of injury to a minor after alleging she forced two children, ages 11 and 10, to walk home alone at 4:30 am Sunday in frigid temperatures.

"I said you you and you out. Everybody out," said Aiello, who has been raising her grandson, Christopher, since his father died last year.

"I opened the door. Not thinking. Not realizing the time. I was angry and said 'go home'."

Though I do feel for her, she's very lucky nothing happened to those children.

She should have called the parents to come get them.

Absolutely

I wonder how far they lived from her. Either way, no child that age should be walking around at the time of night/morning...especially in the cold.

I think the problem was more that she was preoccupied thinking of her husband....still, what if something terrible had happened to those kids while walking home? She would NEVER have forgiven herself.

Grandma should have called the parents.

My girl has had plenty of her friends sleep-over and all but two are welcome back at any time.
