When I worked CWS I would keep my pigs home with me the days I was off. I don't work because I want to; I work because I have to. Unfortunatelly the cost of living here is atrocious! My day consists of waking up, getting ready for work, waking two young kids up and getting them ready for daycare, taking them to daycare and then going to work, putting in my time there, picking the kids up, cooking dinner, bath time, then whatever quality time I can in before bed.

I cook dinner damn near every night because sit down at the table meals are something I did not have growing up and I've grown up to think it's important. Not only important for the family time but nutritionally as well. I rarely take a whole day off for a doctor's appointment or something similar. I'll go in late or leave early. My provider is open on most of the federal holidays that I have off. Hell yes those kids go to daycare on those days unless there is something family wise planned. #1 I'm paying for those days and #2 it gives me a day to get stuff done around the house without a 1 and 4 year old running around. I can go shopping for myself if I want to. I can sleep all day if I want. Those handful of days a year are my days to unwind.

My kids also go to grandma's for one night just about every weekend. Just a night. I do this now moreso for them/her then myself. I'm not the party girl I use to be and we now live 45 minutes away instead of 15 so that's the only time they get to see her. I grew up with a grandma over an hour away and the other in GA. I'd like for my kids to see more of their grandparents then I did. Both the kids and my parents enjoy that time as well.

I feel that the quality time I have with my kids is very limited but there's no other feasible choice right now.

Your provider is open on federal holidays? When does she close if ever? I'm a provider and I do take all federal holidays.

I don't see where I said anything about "worries"??? Care to elaborate on what you're implying?

I thought she was saying you are most fortunate and have your act together.

Also - she's got FIVE kids to run the routine with so her world is a little hectic.

I was talking about your post, not hers. Your "worries" equate to dinner, bath time, cuddle time, grandma time, etc. Though, I'm not quite sure why she labeled them as worries.

I took her *shakingherheadindisbelief* as a dig.

I couldn't handle any more then two kids so I got my tubes tied. If she's got issues w/ her 5 then she shoulda thought about that. She shouldn't belittle me for knowing my limits and stopping while I was ahead.

I thought she was saying you are most fortunate and have your act together. You're so sweet and that's why I like you!
