I've only ever had that Kodak one (digital) and I can't remember any of the specs although I'm sure they're not that great.
What is the biggest factor in your purchase? Ease of use, zoom, settings?

There are several "super zoom" point and shoots out there. Right now I believe that Olympus has a 10 or 12 mp with 20x optical zoom. With the advanced point and shoots you are looking you may be able to find lens accessories that go with them also. I know that on my Canon I can buy a lens adapter and purchase filters, macro lenses, and tele photo lenses for it. Which sort of gives you the versatility of a DSLR without the $$$ outlay.

Go to dpreview.com and check the comparison pages there, it is a very useful site.

Went to Best Buy also. Wanted the Nikon Cool pix 8mp. They said it was also discontinued, but the Waldorf store had one. Just happened to be in Target the next weekend and the identical camera was there, in stock, $30cheaper. Only extra I had to buy was the memory card. I can take something like 700 pictures with the 2 gig card.
