I wish I had had my better camera with me down in Louisiana last weekend but for my Canon P&S, they came out pretty good:

Of course, this is my favorite.

Thanks - I was pleased they turned out at ALL. The sky was a bonus - a hellacious thunderstorm came through a few hours before and the sky cleared beautifully just in time for the outdoor wedding I was attending. Hence having my camera with me - right place at the right time for once.

Great pictures folks! Does anyone remember James Cagney singing the "Grand old Flag" song in Yankee Doodle Dandy? Makes me proud to be an American and even draws a tear now & then. I love the 4th of July almost as much as Christmas. Patriotism is seriously lacking in this country and we need to reinforce it before something Obaminable changes it. Here are the words but there's nothing like the video. I hope someone can find it on You tube or somewhere similar and post it here:

You're a grand old flag, you're a high flying flag
and forever in peace may you wave
you're the emblem of the land I love
the home of the free and the brave!

Every heart beats true under red white & blue
where there's never a boast or brag
Should auld acquaintance be forgot
keep your eye on the grand old flag!
