Li-ion battery. Socki, congrats on your new camera! Your best bet is to buy a second battery and keep one charged at all times. I've found this to work well. BTW, I have the Nikon P60 and my battery stays charged a long time. I still keep a second fully charged in reserve, just in case!!

No problem! Believe me, it will be a life saver!! Nothing sucks worse than being at a party or somewhere with a great photo op and having the "battery low" indicator flash on, or having the camera shut off. Can't wait to see some of your pics posted!
