Locations: Abandoned Factories/Buildings/Houses

I'm looking for abandoned structures within the southern Maryland area to use as interesting backdrops for photo shoots with models. Does anyone know of any interesting locations? I want grungy, dirty, run down, interesting textures and colors. Even areas with graffiti or chain link fences would work.

Thanks!

I'd try the pier under the solomans bridge for one

If you can get to Lexington Park, before the "flat tops" are demolised, I'm sure you will find boarded up homes, graffiti and broken windows. I haven't been in that area for a while tho.

Go to gate 2 and turn right. You will see the old library on your left hand side. The flat tops are behind there. It's the old base housing.

Like I said, I haven't been there for a long time, they might have already been demolished

Yes, they have been, except one kept for historical interest. Still might be interesting for a shoot, though, since the roads are still there, but no houses. The image below shows brown spaces where the houses were, but is all grass now. One section is a frisbee golf course, but the goals and such could be worked around.

Google Maps

You'll want to come in through the Rennel Ave W shown there, from the left sied of the map, off of Willows Road.

Hmmm, where was that.....oh, yeah, just today, coming north on Rt 5, between St Marys City and Great Mills, theres three cinder block walls of some structure, maybe 1-2 miles if that south of Great Mills, on the west side of the road. Looks to be private property, so I would ask at the nearest house for permission.

Yeah, the Flattops are pretty much gone. We tried to take pictures of them for the scavenger hunt a while ago but, this was all that was left.

Sounds like you want eyesores. There are a couple of gas stations on Great Mills rd.
