What to use to store/edit/file photos on my PC?

I have Olympus Master 2, Photo impression 6 and Nikkon NX on my computer. i have just scanned over 200 old slides. Before I transfer them to my PC I want to know which program to use. Which has the easiest editing features? Which allows you to tag photos so I can sort for some projects? Which makes it easiest to find you pics? Which has an easy labeling system? I also think windows media center has something I can use. Ultimately, I want to transfer lots of these to Snapfish. Where do I start? Thanks in advance.

I think you can tag in Olympus Master 2 but not sure. I use adobe lightroom and photoshop.. Lightroom has an addon you can use to upload and tag images going to some of the on-line services. You can also use flickr and batch edit tags on line. Pretty easy stuff.
