Question about Watermarks

What would prevent someone from copying your watermarked photo and
cropping/cutting/editing the watermark off.
Are there more secure ways of preventing misuse of your posted photos ?

most photos I've seen have the watermark across the center of the picture, it would be really hard to get rid of it without completely ruining the picture.

What she said.

Also, before posting anything here I will lower the resolution to a point that any average size print would be crap. On my site, the copies are bigger, but I have right-click save disabled.

You really don't think disabling the "right-click" prevents someone was copying it - do ya?

Digimarc ~ invisible watermark that is tracked by search engine so you know were your image is reposted.

I know of no one who actually uses it though.

Its built into Photoshop in the bottom of filter tab

I'm sure there are ways around it, as there are most things. But the common thief won't care - they'll move on to someone else's image(s).
