Interesting point. And I'd go with it, if women got pregnant because some crazy guy with a machine zapped them without their permission.

Outside of rape - where choice isn't an option - birth control usually works very very well, and it takes two people who are both responsible for the new child. They make it sound like a guy just shows up, impregnates some woman without her consent or knowledge, and walks away free as a bird.

It also fails to address a situation I know has occurred in the lives of friends of mine - where the father wanted the child and the mother aborted it. In one case in particular, the mother aborted it solely because of who the father was, and that he wanted it - and I know this because she told me this repeatedly.

I know nature hasn't made it easy because only one gender carries the child to term, but if two people made the baby, two people ought to have input on what to do with it. It used to be the mother had NO choice in the matter, whether she wanted it or not.

As a woman, I feel completely comfortable placing the birth control responsibility on my sisters. They go into these random sexual encounters knowing full well which party risks pregnancy and permanent life-alteration. They also know that rarely will a guy they've picked up in a bar be a responsible mate for them.

And, last but not least, women control the sex at the end of the day. They give the green light or put on the brakes. So if they find themselves with an unwanted pregnancy, well, every woman in the US knows what causes that sort of thing.

I'll spare you my rant about the "Women's Movement" except to say that we got screwed, both literally and figuratively. Women were told that they could explore their sexual endeavors just the same as a man, but conveniently left out the part about the unwanted pregnancy and who was ultimately going to have to deal with it.

Yah, that is funny.

I have always wondered about the women who said they had taken the pill, then land up pregnant.
This happens way more often than statistical probability would allow.
In your opinion, is it usually the girl wanting to trap the man, or just has to have a baby, or a true accident?
