It's been my experience that fundies vote however they want - there are some who won't vote Republican because they're of the opinion that they're heartless racist bastards. There are some who won't vote Democrat because they think they're amoral libertines.

I don't know where you get your "tendency". Personally, I think you're making it up. Or watching too much TV.

(Just for the record, it's idiotic to clarify "I didn't say EVERYONE" because unless we're all in grade school, this is something we as adults know.)

I am refering specifically to a segment on the far far right, not all conservatives in general. Most conservatives I know do not agree with the POV held by the BJU crowd, but that group is on the right politically. I don't agree with Chavez (and stopped buying my gas at Citgo looong ago) even though I will acknowledge he is on the left, just way further to the left than I am.

Chavez isn't on the left - geez, he's from Venezuela. He appeals to the left here, because he doesn't like Bush. Frankly, I think he hates this COUNTRY as well, but it suits him to have photo ops with Kennedy.

Political allies do not mean "friends".

Religious witless types who embrace what you deem "conservative" (which has NOTHING to do with the political term conservative) religious values are not anywhere on the political spectrum - there are those on the left - who scream that Bush is a Nazi - but go back to their church and espouse these beliefs you think are conservative. And there are those on the right that like Bush - and also espouse them.

It's not a political issue, it's a cultural, religious one. It has nothing to do with politics. There's no "far right" in religion or Christianity and Jesus didn't set it up that way.
