| There... ...might be a worthwhile conversation to have here had we not just gone through seven years of; Rapidly turning our nation into a police state under the guise of protecting the 'homeland' Massive expansion of scope, breadth and cost of government Invasion of sovereign nations Titanic increase in what amounts to socialized medicine via the medicaid expansion. There isn't a one of these any self respecting Marxist wouldn't happily approve of 'for the good of the people'.

Unfortunately, none of the current likely candidates has any intention of correcting the wrongs, as far as I can tell. It's a matter of degrees of how much worse they'll make things.

| Perhaps I was unclear..... Do you not see the policies, practices, previous votes, etc., of these two candidates in a socialist bent? Do you perceive them in that manner, or what manner do you perceive their policies, votes, platform planks, etc.?

Lax attention to detail failed at the airport. A piece of paper stopped the FBI from shutting them down before it happened. We needed a minor, common sense adjustment in the legal relations of our existing intelligence and law enforcement services and instead we got a massive upheaval of air travel, government, law, and money and who knows what else. And we did it to ourselves. Stalin would marvel at the irony of how much force he had to use to get it done in his day were he around to see what we've chosen to do to ourselves.

I know it's the Right's way of trying to scare up votes...to point at an opponent and accuse them of being whatever the current buzzword of the week is. "Ack...Communist! Socialist! IslamoFascistKlingon!!!" You can take positions of either party and contort them to the point where you can selectively apply a fearmongering label. If that's all you've got, I guess you have to beat it into the ground. | |
