Here's some food for thought.

Federal Budget Spending and the National Debt

Interesting chart. Note that the top three expenditures from the general fund are

1. Health and human services
2. Department of defense
3. Treasury (including interest paid on national debt)

I'm still wading through the info trying to figure out where the numbers came form and if they're legit but...

If you have a lot of time and good analytical skills (two things I don't have), here's another good one to look at.

Thanks.

I've been trying to track down entitlement programs but as it turns out, there are so damn many of them spread between so many agencies it's nearly impossible. Last year at tax time I got so frustrated I started a spreadheet. I got frusrated and stopped after finding nearly 80 Federal programs alone. Maryland had equivalent programs for nearly all of them and they were NOT mutually exclusive. i.e. if you qualified for a federal program it was likely you qualified for the state program as well.

I get spooled up every year about this time when I see how much of the money they take from me (under threat of imprisonment if I refuse to pay) is squandered on POS entitlement programs, the majority of which have no guidelines for determining an individuals LEGITIMATE need for the money.

I got some food for thought for you. The president we vote in is the one that lies the best.
Our gov is fing us left right and sideways. From fuel to power to our kids being killed. What the Feds don't get in taxes our state and county is.
Our senator and congress men do whatever they want to help them self's now and when they get out. If they cared about us we would not be paying 3$ a gallon for gas or eating poisoned half dead pumped full of steroids that are only being talked about in congress cause of baseball.
Now stop surfing the net and get back to work, thousand sitting on their ass collecting welfare are depending on you
