I'm guessing that he will resign.

It would be one thing if he was popular and had high approval ratings, but that isn't the case. Plus, he seems to have been one of those "I'm going to clean up the system" kind of guys...only to get busted doing the very thing he fought against.

If he hopes to have any political future whatsoever, he would be best served by stepping down. Then, after a bit of time where he publicly undergoes therapy and finds Jesus, he can come back as a newly reformed do-gooder who had fallen victim to the same flaws as countless of others, but has now seen the error of his ways and is ready to make amends.

Or something like that.

Then again, Senator David Vitter seemed to have survived his prostitution scandal okay...so who knows?

The Senate is 32-30 to the R's and the house is mostly D's. source-Michael Church 11 Mar 08. The folks on Wall Street are doing cartwheels, he is not highly regarded in the financial arena even though a little over of 10% of NY's tax revenue comes from the financial district.

...depending on NY's impeachment process, he can't be impeached by GOP'ers alone. So, this puts state Democrats in the hot seat if this is heading for impeachment.

Thanks for looking that up!

Spitzer was a white Jesse Jackson, corporate shakedown artist. Wall Street wasn't the only one doing cartwheels. Spitzer never burned bridges, he nuked them. It will take a few days for me to simmer down and remember this azzwipe is human also, but for now, I really feel this guy deserves every bit of humiliation coming to him. How the mighty have fallen!

Notice Schumer and Clinton aren't going on a limb to support this guy. He's the type that would saw it off behind them.

Whether Spitzer resigns or not remains to be seen. But David Vitter is(was) not the chief executive officer of a state. Big difference in the two positions.
