Personally, I think McCain did the right thing. By saying how he feels, and repeating that he's going to run a clean campaign, the issue gets defuzed. If he were to go off ranting about this guy's racism and anti-Islamic sentiments, that guy would be forced to defend himself by attacking McCain, and McCain would have to fight back by denouncing this guy, and the next thing you know the Republican party is busy defending itself against more charges of racism.
