I'm Not Racist. Some of my Best Friends Are Black.

"Geraldine Ferraro tried to stick her foot in her mouth but her loafers were too small. So instead she unpacked a whip and stuck that in there and it fit just right. This week she theorized that a self-made black guy with a Muslim name has a political advantage over a white woman who is the wife of a two-term President.

Put in historical context, a statement like that doesn't make sense. That's why Affirmative Action exists. Ferraro should know this. After all, she's a white woman white women have benefited more from Affirmative Action than any other group the legislation was created to serve. Don't take my word for it, let's conduct a poll of all the presidents and see which of the black ones felt their ethnicity aided their ascent to the White House. Wait, there's never been a black president. All the black people who ran for this office before Senator Obama were so thoroughly marginalized that you can't even call what they did running for president."

Orlando Lima: I'm Not Racist. Some of my Best Friends Are Black. - Politics on The Huffington Post

Let's set the record straight on this race issue yet again. I'm a black man. Despite how close my skin tone is to white I can't think of a single instance in which my color has worked to my advantage. I can however produce examples of being wrongfully arrested, denied jobs, and refused services because I'm of African descent.

You're asserting that white women have benefitted more from affirmative action because there has never been a black president?

Let's use the same logic this way:

See how that works?

Yep, Puffington Host strikes again. What a worthless collection of trash.

Racism is a much larger issue. It entails the use of power, money and public policy to create a system that encourages and enforces discrimination against a specific group of people based on the notion that their race is inferior. Black people make up a small percentage of the American population. We don't have much wealth or education and we are grossly underrepresented in government. We can be prejudice, and I know plenty of blacks who hate the man, but racist... it simply isn't possible because we don't have any power. Sometimes I wish blacks could be racist because white folks look like they're having a hell of a fun time with it. Heck, I don't even want to buy the damn thing. I'd settle for a test drive around the block.

It's troublesome that liberal whites act in a racist fashion so often without realizing it. We all know where the conservatives stand. They're transparent. They hate black people.

Yeah ok ....... Conservatives HATE BLACK PEOPLE .....

When liberals need black votes they come into our communities and act like they're down. They'll crank dat Souljah Boy like the dance is still in style. When we're dunking basketballs and cracking jokes they commend us for being so darn entertaining. But when they feel challenged by blacks, as the Clinton campaign does by the Obama campaign, we're not so fresh after all.

........ but Oooo Snap

This is indeed a dumb assed comment, but it is the basis of every sensitivity class .'
Its plain and pure unadulterated horsechit that is fed to white folks every day in sensitivity classes by racist instructors who shove this ton of manure down the throat of the poor people who have to sit and listen to this crock of chit, because they spoke the truth and have to go to these dumb assed sensitivity classes.

You know, when someone says "some of my best friends are...", I gotta admit, it sure sounds stupid, but it convinces me of at least extremely obvious fact. They're not racist. They may have prejudices, and they may not understand things well and they may say rude things unintentionally, but it doesn't make them racists. People who are *RACIST* do not make friends with the people they despise.

I've always detested the convenience of definitions of racism that are so malleable, flexible and fickle that at once it describes a vicious and hateful person who shows his hate deliberately and at the same time it also describes a frightened old woman who crosses the street to avoid a black man and it also describes all white people just for being white.

If people want to know why white folks don't give a crap about racism, it's because they're tired of being guilted out no matter what they do. The only rational, reasonable thing to do is ignore it.

One other thing while I am ranting about racism. Anyone who says black people dont have power therefore they cannot be racist has never lived in Washington DC or Atlanta ,Ga.

I always challenge that thinking when I hear it. Blacks are not denied anything because they are of African descent. They are treated the way they are because of what members of their racial group have done since becoming Americans. They are not denied anything because some people dislike the fact that they are from Africa, or used to hunt antelopes, or lived in mud shacks, or fought the British. They are denied anything because some people are upset that they were forced onto slave ships, brought to the US and sold, and were forced to work as slaves. It's more of the entitlement mentality, broad unfounded accusations of racism, amount of violence, and other such negatives that lead people to dislike/distruct them.
