But I also thought Mike Steele would walk away with the Senate election, so what do I know.
...brings up an interesting point because I bet my third sister Steele would win. I miss her. Sometimes.

Point being, as sure as I was of Steele, I am about that sure Obama will win. McCain is HORRIBLE in debates, is a strong proponent of a faux war that is destroying our nation, on several levels, and is ever more upsetting as more and more details of the simple malpractice of Rumsfeld, Cheney and Bush come out and has said he don't know from economics. He does a pale imitation of of Reagan's faith in the American people and it sounds like something out of a bad SNL skit.

It's gonna have to be moderates that elect McCain and I can see them taking a chance on Barrack. I think.

So did I.

There's actually a lot of talk about Steele becoming McCain's running mate.

If it was :
  • McCain vs Hillary - McCain takes it, RepuTARDs and moderate DemocRATs, would swallow the bile and vote for McCain over another Clinton. Her name, history, and persona would be enough to swing it for McCAin
  • McCain vs Obama - Obama takes it, even with the Wright flap he still has the momentum (for the DemocRATs) and RepuTARD apathy about McCain works in Obama's favor.

Thats to counter Obama with the Black Vote, but outside of Maryland, is Steele a nationwide name?

From where? I only saw Steele mentioned in one article way down the list in the wild card section. Steele doesn't bring enough to the table to be a viable candidate. 1. He lost a senate race to an old white man. 2. There is no way on earth he could deliver Maryland or DC. 3. Maryland or DC are too small to matter. 4. He does not have national exposure past a couple of Hannity and Combs appearances. 4. He lacks experience. Being a LT Governor is not much to put on a resume.

I don't think Steele would be the VP nominee because he wouldn't be able to deliver MD. Part of what the VP does is deliver a state (hopefully).

BTW, if Obama gets the Dem nomination and loses to McCain, anybody think there will be race riots?

Here's why I respectfully think you are wrong. The Democratic Party is not a cohesive organization. They are a federation of independent groups, each with their own interests and power bases. The Republican Party is largely unified by a set of philosophies (gun control, abortion, religion, taxes, capitalism, etc.), and while segments of the party may disagree on one or two areas, by and large we are all pushing for the same thing.

The Democrat party operates more along the lines of taking vice shared concerns. Whereas Republicans are generally trying to reduce federal outlays, Democrats are concerned with increasing outlays AND getting bigger shares for their core constituencies. The blacks want more outlays for blacks, and the hispanics want more outlays for hispanics, while Republicans want to end outlays all together and lower taxes. With a white president, the blacks and the hispanics can press for more money, but with a black of hispanic president, the view will be one side is getting over on the other. Just wait and see.
