| Here's something else to make a note of... if McCain loses expect to see Condi Rice running in 2012. Remember you heard it here first! ![]() |

| Sorry, but I can't see it that way. We had just way too many top-flight conservatives sit this race out, I'm guessing because they wrongly believed that Hillary was unbeatable, or because the war might doom Republicans, or because all the polls were showing a generic Democrat was going to win. Top-tier candidates are only going to run in a campaign they feel confident of winning, and they don't go out to be cannon fodder as they'll be forever maked as a "former candidate" and that can be bad.... not always... but sometimes. If someone has a better idea why all the top Republicans sat out 2008 I would love to hear it. |

Why do we vote the party and not the capable ? It is because as members of the noveau technological society , we have abdicated our responsibilities and accountabilities to a media that is so overstuffed with their own self importance that they rightly believe they can control our lives. The media is so inurred with their celebrity status that they openly treat the rest of us with patronizing contempt. In the end, however, the person most responsible for this state of affairs , is that person that looks right back at you in your mirror everyday. To answer your question...the only one that is viable is that few have the stomach for the mental beating , and I am speaking of both parties. I add also, few have the financial resources that will make them independent of their "backers". If ever we could get a leader who doesn't have to worry about taking care of special interests over the special interests of the American people, then we would move forward instead of being stuck in this perennial stalemate. | |

| That's why I don't understand why Republicans crossed party lines to vote for Shrillary. I voted for Ron Paul in the primary. I think this was a unique opportunitty to vote for a candidate I truly like. Unfortanently, the media didn't want us to hear his message. They barred him from the debates, gave him little air time on timeslots nobody was watching, and kept stating that he had a cult-like following. Shrillary has no place to go about how the media's treating her. The media wants a Democrat to win the election and even they realize she is a hinderance. The media's very pro-Clinton, so it's something else when they want you out. The way I see it, she's only getting a little bit of what Republicans have got for the last 12 years.Primaries, to me, are about voting for a candidate you like. The General Election is about voting for the lesser of the two evils. I'd hate to see a trainwreck, but I think it's inevitable. Might as well let it happen under the Democrat Party's rule that way we Republicans can have another Reagan Revolution. ![]() |

| The last times MD's electoral votes went in the R column was in 1988 for Bush and in '84 for Regan. Since then it has been all Democrats. The counties with the greatest amount of entitlements, Baltimore, PG, and Montgomery are all that's required to win the state so it looks like the victims will be doing the deciding .
