| There is a lot of truth in it, thats for sure. It appears that Rev. Wright has an opportunity to make National news because of Obama's Presidential run. He is an opportunist taking advantage of an opportunity . Obama appears to be the deer in Rev Wrights headlights. Obama should have dumped him when he had the opportunity, but he wasnt ruthless enough. Rev. Wright is. |

1. He believes and agrees the same things as Wright. 2. He chose to use Wright's politically power in Chicago and Illinois so he could rise through local and state political positions. Victim politics are probably an asset at those levels, but he's finding out that most Americans don't feel they "owe" a segment of society that refuses to help themselves just because of the color of their skin. Appeasement didn't work for Chamberlain, why would it work now?

I've mentioned before, I've been in churches where the pastor has spoken against things I disagree with, such as slots in Maryland or drinking alcohol. I've seen leaders rail against innocuous things such as playing cards or going to public pools or beaches where men and women are both going. I've also been in a church where an elder did something publicly I couldn't stand - which was to deliberately ignore the pleas of a woman who wanted prayers for her brother, on the grounds that she was retarded and didn't know what she was asking. (In that situation, I confronted him to his face, and the pastor of the church corrected the matter). But I would absolutely walk out of a service if a pastor said those things Wright said. I think Obama doesn't disagree ENOUGH to get up and walk out. I think it bothers him on a much lower level. You know what amazes me? Try to imagine if a white man said those things. Not the white "equivalent". The EXACT SAME words. It would still be an outrage. | |
