Bo Snerdley, O.O.C.

Yesterday I tuned into Rush just in time to hear "Bo Snerdley". The whole OCC thing is just brilliant, IMO. I've only heard 2 or 3 of Bo's statements, each one better than the last.

This one was about the Reverend Wright's latest racial slur...

The audio version is only available to the Rush 24/7 members (which I am not) but the transcript is posted on the site:

" This is Bo Snerdley, official criticizer for the EIB Network, certified black enough to
criticize. I have a statement. Senator Obama, we understand the need for you to take time off with your family, but this is a presidential race, and while you were away, your former pastor, Jeremiah Wright, continued making news. Now he's attacking Italian-Americans, referring to them as garlic noses. Senator Obama, one of your platforms is that you would speak to America's enemies, persuade them somehow to become our friends. Yet you apparently can't even speak with your friend, your former pastor, after all that has happened in recent weeks and persuade him to just be quiet, for the sake of your own campaign to be quiet and for the sake of unity. Mr. Obama, we're losing hope, and it's very sad.

And now the translation for the brothers and the sisters in the EIB community: Yo Barack, I had you confused with the brother that knows how to throw down. Your homey, first he goes out and disses the World War II vets, he disses us dropping the bomb to win a war, then he lifts some lines from brother Malcolm. All right, all right, that was cool. But after all that, it starts to blow over. What does he do? He comes out and disses the Italians. What's next, bro? He's going to diss the Jews? Yo, Obama, tell your homey to shut up, at least, man, until you win. Your main B man, he sounds like he's hooked on madness, and what are you doing? Chilling somewhere out in the Caribbean. Yo, bro, you in the game, you wanted to be in the game, now you in the game. In the game, you either play or you get played. And bro, you're getting played out by your homey, Reverend Wright. That concludes our statement"

There is a lot of truth in it, thats for sure.

It appears that Rev. Wright has an opportunity to make National news because of Obama's Presidential run. He is an opportunist taking advantage of an opportunity . Obama appears to be the deer in Rev Wrights headlights. Obama should have dumped him when he had the opportunity, but he wasnt ruthless enough. Rev. Wright is.

Obama chose to be in Wright's church for one or both of two reasons.
1. He believes and agrees the same things as Wright.
2. He chose to use Wright's politically power in Chicago and Illinois so he could rise through local and state political positions.

Victim politics are probably an asset at those levels, but he's finding out that most Americans don't feel they "owe" a segment of society that refuses to help themselves just because of the color of their skin. Appeasement didn't work for Chamberlain, why would it work now?

I think - and this will sound odd - he doesn't DISAGREE ENOUGH with Wright's beliefs to ever make a stand over it.

I've mentioned before, I've been in churches where the pastor has spoken against things I disagree with, such as slots in Maryland or drinking alcohol. I've seen leaders rail against innocuous things such as playing cards or going to public pools or beaches where men and women are both going.

I've also been in a church where an elder did something publicly I couldn't stand - which was to deliberately ignore the pleas of a woman who wanted prayers for her brother, on the grounds that she was retarded and didn't know what she was asking. (In that situation, I confronted him to his face, and the pastor of the church corrected the matter).

But I would absolutely walk out of a service if a pastor said those things Wright said. I think Obama doesn't disagree ENOUGH to get up and walk out. I think it bothers him on a much lower level.

You know what amazes me? Try to imagine if a white man said those things. Not the white "equivalent". The EXACT SAME words. It would still be an outrage.

This is a very good point.
