GOP Hero: Says Same Things As Rev Wright

"When My Father Said the Same Thing He Was a Republican Hero"

"When Senator Obama's preacher thundered about racism and injustice Obama suffered smear-by-association. But when my late father -- Religious Right leader Francis Schaeffer -- denounced America and even called for the violent overthrow of the US government, he was invited to lunch with presidents Ford, Reagan and Bush, Sr."

"There does come a time when force, even physical force, is appropriate... A true Christian in Hitler's Germany and in the occupied countries should have defied the false and counterfeit state. This brings us to a current issue that is crucial for the future of the church in the United States, the issue of abortion... It is time we consciously realize that when any office commands what is contrary to God's law it abrogates it's authority. And our loyalty to the God who gave this law then requires that we make the appropriate response in that situation..."

"We Republican agitators of the mid 1970s to the late 1980s were genuinely anti-American in the same spirit that later Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson (both followers of my father) were anti-American when they said God had removed his blessing from America on 9/11, because America accepted gays. Falwell and Robertson recanted but we never did."

Let me check the list...

Ronald Reagan
Batman
Rocky Bleier
Roberto Clemente
Terry Bradshaw
My Dad

Nope, no Francis Schaeffer on my hero list, in fact I've never heard of the guy before.

I was "personally invited" to have lunch with the CNO once. Yessiree, I was an E-3 going to be passing the eggs and bacon to the CNO. A little idle chit chat, "Could you pass the jelly Admiral?, some "you know what would make this Navy thing even better?"

Funny thing is about 1,000 other people were "personally invited" to meet him too. If I squinted really hard I could kind of see him waaayyyyyy up front.

I met Frank Kelso when he was CinCLANT one time. I was the glorified doorwatch at ASWOC Bermuda when he came in. Our A-hole OinC was there to greet him, and Kelso ignored him and instead chatted with me for about 15 minutes before letting the OinC take him back for his brief. I thought it was cool that Kelso would take the time to chat with an E-5, but the OinC was pissed at me for taking up "his" time... E-5s should be seen and not heard thing.

I think people should at least be aware that you're alive before hero consideration is given... unless those bigoted non-religous people see conservatives as "you all look and think alike, so if he's a hero to some church he must be hero to you all" or something like that.

Ahhh, I see now. If you claim your father wrote it in a book, it's bank. Then some intellectual snotnose can quote it in a trolling post to a public forum. And it'll all be the truth.
