The Wright Effect... Right on Schedule

I've made no secret that I thought Republicans were making a big mistake by continually harping about Obama and Reverand Wright. My biggest worry was that, as always, we were going to overplay our hand and end up shooting ourselves in the foot, and as expected... that's what's happening.

Republicans should have shut down the attacks after Obama made his race speech in Philadelphia. At that point the Republicans had gotten it on record that Obama was associated with a guy with racist views, and were ready to bring this matter up again at the right time during the general election. Wright had now embarassed Obama, black churches, and many African-Americans. But no... we just don't know when to stop. We gotta keep pushing and pushing and pushing.

So what happens? Well, at some point, we should have known that the African-American community was going to stop being embarassed by Wright and start seeing him as being unfairly attacked. They would see their chcurch systems being attacked. They would see Republicans as anti-black to an even greater extent. And so now we have the NAACP inviting Wright to give keynote speeches at their events.

We have once again taken a guy with serious issues and turned him into a folk hero because we just don't know when to make a case and when to shut up.

Right now, Obama's a prodigy. And, it makes our entire party look like shait when we jump on board the Hillary Clinton Bandwagon by making the same cheap shots and attacks she's making. Either way, we're only helping the Socialist Party.

Bruzilla, for god's sake!! What a friggin' shock that Wright would give a speech for the NAACP! Who ever heard of a black race baiter being associated with the NAACP??

The "black community" (and by that I mean the race hustlers who make a living keeping racism alive) never was embarrassed by Wright, that I'm aware of. It is my impression that they've been trying to paint anyone who raises their eyebrows at him as a racist. Obamacrats have tried to sweep this away and get it out of the news because they're smart enough to know this crap doesn't play well with non-liberal whites, who make up a good portion of the voting public.

But if a guy like Wright embarrassed them, they'd have tossed Sharpton, Jackson and Farrakhan a long time ago. They'd have snubbed Harry Belafonte and Samuel L. Jackson for the celebretards they are. The reason they don't do that, and aren't embarrassed by Wright, is because they make money off this crap. It's what they DO and what they've been trying to feed us for 30 years.

I think it's important to keep this story alive and Wright is just the gift that keeps on giving. Hillary Clinton must be laughing her ass off.

It's going to be alive and well the whole time. The LSM will be sure of that.

Having a race baiter at the NAACP is no surprise. What is new is that Wright is now the baiter de 'jour at the NAACP. And granted, folks like Sharpton and company were never embarassed, but I guarantee you the rank and file in the black community were, especially the more afluent blacks that Obama was drawing much of his support from at the time this became an issue. You are atempting to paint the whole African-American community with the Sharpton/Jackson brush and that might work in Chicago or NYC, but it doesn't work well with the black voters in the flyover states.

There's a fine line between making an issue of something, and making such a big deal out of something that some people start seeing nothing but attacks and go on the defense. We started by highlighting a couple of rants by Wright, then we tried to paint him as a lifelong racist. Then we started painting black churches as all being racist meeting places and attacking black preachers as all being like Wright. This was going to be a loser issue from the get-go as whites #####ing about a black guy calling them names was never going to fly with blacks who have been enduring that abuse from whites for decades. And as usual, we allowed the use of sterotypes to lose sight of what the original issue was, and now we have the NAACP and other mainstream blacks rushing to support Wright rather than distancing themselves from him.

And come the general election, this topic will be a big issue, but it will be a big one for Obama as he and his supporters will be able to effectively paint Republicans as being anti-black and anti-black-churches, and what little support McCain would have gotten from blacks will be gone.

That won't happen. I still think Shrillary's gonna pull it off.

It's effective: She can easily go to the Superdelegates and state that half of her supporters won't vote for Obama. Yeah, those numbers are unlikely, but if she keeps playing dirty campaign tactics, she might get those numbers to stick or grow up until August. If so, she can easily state that she's the only person who can carry Ohio and Pennsylvania. She wins.

It's common knowledge: The Democrats MUST carry Pennsylvania. Shrillary's divided that state just as she has every other. It's a win-win for her.

Obama's gonna support Clinton. Obama's voters will supprot Clinton when the LSM paints McCain as Bush 2.0. But, Clinton can keep her hardliners divided and threaten the whole process for the Dems.

And if she does, watch out for the race riots............

Wrong. First of all, there is no such thing as the "African-American community", any more than there is a "Caucasian community". That suggests that all black people are alike and march in lockstep. This is simply not true. I also specified what I meant by "black community":

Quote:
The "black community" (and by that I mean the race hustlers who make a living keeping racism alive)
because that is who I assume "they" are referring to when they say "black community". The vocal media types who make a living at this stuff, and the groupies who make up their audience. They can't possibly mean every single black person in the US.

And you're right that they're turning Rev. Wright into a folk hero, just like they did Sharpton. That guy will have his own talk show any day now. But Barack Obama is a candidate for president and it's important for us to know everything about him that we can before election day. I don't like nasty little surprises.

Naw.

The most level-headed voters are the Obama supporters, which seem to be the majority of the people who are fed up with Washington. Obama represents positive change. I think they'll go away quietly and support Clinton. She'll be painted as the lesser-evil and cruise to victory in November, unless McCain gets nasty. And, with Clinton, he's gonna have to get real nasty because she's just as nasty as anyone.

Maybe he can silence her once and for all. He should throw a 5 gal. bucket of water on her at the debate just to see whether or not she melts.

Wright is on TV right now, making a speech on "the black religious experience", talking about how in the days of slavery blacks had to worship in secret to keep their African culture alive.

This, of course, has absolutely nothing to do with his anti-American, anti-white rantings from the pulpit.

And now the press club audience is applauding him because Wright is saying that the criticism of him is not about him at all, but an attack on the black church.
