Many of them see Sen. Obama as more electable than Sen. Clinton. But even those who don't have been impressed by his grass-roots organizing and fund raising and the legions of new voters he has attracted, particularly younger and African-American voters.

A Democratic strategist to congressional candidates cites Sen. Clinton's high negative ratings in opinion polls. Politicians "all think Obama will stimulate African-American turnout, and they all know there's no way she gets independents or Republicans," says the strategist, who is unaligned in the presidential race.
...let you handle the softballs; How would you defend poor little Barack against claims that his 'high' negatives will hurt him?

The argument that, though Hillary CAN'T get moderates and left leaning GOP'ers is, on it's face, laughable in context that Obama CAN. Hell, McCain might even vote for Hillary over him.

Hillary only got the Senate seat because the CW of the Democratic Party was she had to win and hold a public office before her coronation as the first woman president. Most folks with half a brain knew when she started her run that she wasn't going to be a Senator any longer than she had to be. She was basically keeping the seat warm until her time for the White House allowed her to trade up, and the Dems in NY supported that as they would have a former NY Senator becoming POTUS. If Hillary loses the nomination, her Senate career is over, her power will be gone, and her enemies are going to rip her and Bill to shreds.

I'm not a Democrat, but I don't think either Obama or Hillary will be the next president.

I disagree with this. Most women would like to see a woman from their own party have a shot at it. A Democrat woman will say she wants to see a woman president, but when you bring up Liddy Dole or Kay Bailey Hutchison, suddenly they're not so hip on women. Republican women are appalled by Hillary Clinton and won't give her the sisterhood vote.

And McCain doesn't have any trouble at all making fun of his old self. And he does still have his 90+ year old mother, who seems to have all of her wits about her, to prove longevity runs in the family.

Whether that works or not is another story. But he's not showing signs of senility. Yet.

I would laugh my face off if Hillary Clinton went up against Ann Coulter in an election.

.... now, THAT would be fun.

Hillary would leave Coulter a very whipped puppy if they had a face off. I like Coulter, but you have to remember that a lot of her wittiness comes from professional writers and editors who she employs. That's why she doesn't come across very well when she's on live.

...it for me to speak for women, especially GOP'er women. Allow me then, to simply relay what dear old grandmother, FDR Democrat, said; Hillary, yes. Barack, no.
