Now, look at the comments themselves: ""Goddamn America!" and "US of KKK" and "The government created AID's to kill off the black man." You find them offensive as do many others, but there are also a lot of people who agree with them. In the past it has always been others who were offended by comments made by preachers, and now its people like you and now you're all in a huff. When a minister made anti-gay or anti-abortion comments, you nodded your head. Now that a minister makes anti-white remarks you freak. Going back to my first point, Republicans have always told gays and abortion folks that just because a candidate's church is against them doesn't mean the candidate is against them. Remember that? Now look at Michele Obama's comments. You're upset with her because she's coming off as an ungreatful jerk by badmouthing (in your opinion) a country that has given her everything she has. Well again, that's your perspective as a white guy. You didn't grow up as a lower-middle class black woman, so I'm guessing your view of America's generosity, values, and attitude is much different than hers. And as before, you and others may not share this view of Obama, but many others do. As for your view of his "pedantic obfuscation", I agree with what Obama is doing. The gas tax holiday was a perfect example of what he's talking about. McCain and Clinton were blatently pandering to the masses... trying to win their vote with a promise of $20 or so. Obama was honest and said what we need is President who will fix our energy problems, not try to paper over them with a worthless pandering gesture. Think about that PA debate where Obama got pissed about questions about Wright and flagpins. There they are in a state that is hemoraging jobs due to high taxes, trade agreements that Clinton is associated with, and at a point when Hillary has been changing her positions on these issues with every primary. And what are the questions being asked? Why don't you wear flagpins! I remember a few months back during a Republican debate when Fred Thompson blew off bogus questions about the environment, and called for more substantial questions to be asked, and was seen as a hero. But when Obama does the same thing, it's all "pedantic obfuscation". Let's be honest. Would you ever be so shallow as to decide to vote for someone because they wear a flagpin?

| Okay, we keep talking about Obama's pastor. We get the picture. Obama's racist and hates America because his pastor hates America. Okay, we get it. ![]() Now, let's talk about McCain's pastor. ![]()

| Voting record is very important, no doubt. But it's not an acurate metric for what work someone has done in the Senates. Anybody can vote for someone else's bill, but someone else did all the work to make it happen. For example, I heard a McCain spokewoman today again giving credit for designing The Surge to McCain when McCain had nothing to do with it besides voting for it. Condi Rice was the brains behind the design and execution of The Surge and fought with Rumsfeld to make it happen. All McCain did was say "Yea" when the vote was taken. Based on that we need Condi as President and not McCain. So, I think you should go back to the Illinois records and look at all the bills that Obama wrote and that others voted on.

| You live by the sword, you die by it. You're going to see Hagee made into just as big an issue as Wright was. If the Republicans had not been so stupid and shortsighted as to attack Wright, Hagee would still be as much an unknown nobody as Wright was. Now we've opened the doors to critical reviews of everything any minister associated with McCain has said, how they live, and everything else about them... and McCain will be painted with the same brush just the way Obama was. What's even worse is they think that they can control the debate by saying Obama knew Wright for 20 years, but that's not going to fly. I hope the guys who opened this door enjoy what they have unleashed.

Can you name me W's pastor? Clinton's? 41's? How about Dole's or Gore's or Dukakis or Reagan? Maybe Carter? This is a special case and you simply can't negotiate this into something minor. Also, don't waste your time looking at this through the matrix of MY views because I don't hold this against Obama, at all. I fault him only for his ham handed, inside the beltway, same old politics of obfuscation, parsed words and all around bull feathers responses. I love free speech and I love guys like Wright. I think FOX or CNN or both should have him on for an hour and talk about nothing but AID's and Wright's accusations. You can't change time tested axioms in the mind of most in the middle of a campaign; you're known by the company you keep. Obama isn't known for denouncing Rev. Wright when the comments were made. He's known for trying to talk his way out of the association when it became inconvenient.
