| I've been saying Hill had the nomination in a back room deal made last year ![]() It will be legitimized by the 'popular' vote |

Yeah Andy... I'm hearing all kinds of Clintoniestas all over the cable news outlets proclaiming how Hillary can't be counted out. If you want to believe them, go right on ahead and believe. You're only going to be embarassing yourself.

I just don't understand why the media is making a bigger deal out of this than they are the earthquake, Myanmar and all the other things going on. West Virginia is a non-story that's getting more media hype than the Super Bowl.

| It's called ratings. The cable news outlets are getting top dollar for ad spots that before were just about worthless. So... they're going out of their way to make every primary a "must see TV" event. They could get away with it up through last week, but it's now going to be a tougher sell. |

MSNBC's had endless primary coverage for months, and all it's done to their ratings is kill them. ESPECIALLY when there's a major breaking news event. Once people go home and tune in for more on the big stories happening today and the newschannels are about the election (and they will), they're just going to turn it off.Remember the California inferno?

CNN is getting better, FOX is killing them both. This endless coverage of the Obama/Clinton fight is making me sick, kinda wish we would have a national primary on the same day for both parties, three months out, and then let the feathers fly. The TV coverage is making me ill. Last edited by cwo_ghwebb : 05-12-2008 at 07:04 PM.

CNN should've hired Keith Olbermann while they had the chance. That would've killed MSNBC. MSNBC's flagship faces are Keith Olbermann, Chris Matthews and Mika Brzezinski. Any of them go, and MSNBC goes down the gutter. The biggest problem, though, is MSNBC was growing tremendously and was beating CNN and HLN around the clock up until Imus got fired. Then, MSNBC stuck their heads up their collective asses and did a terrible job with the Virginia Tech story. Once they fumbled that, they offed themselves. That was too big a human interest story at the time for them to screw up the way they did. They also had huge potential with the MN Bridge Collapse. They ran primetime and overnight coverage and, for a few hours, they looked like the MSNBC I grew up watching and liking. The next day, they dropped the ball and gave Paris Hilton and Britney airtime. By the end of the day after the bridge collapse, it wasn't even a blip on the radar for MSNBC and they were back to about the election while FOX and CNN came full-circle with the story. So, while they're showing growth, it means nothing because they were at rock-bottom last year. They were getting beat out by CNBC and Headline News for most of the day. ![]()
