It would be fun to turn conventional politics on its ear, but I don't have faith in the voters to do that. It's too ingrained in them to vote R or D.

HOWEVER, Ron Paul isn't done yet. The media hasn't talked about him, but he is still a viable candidate. If he runs as an Indy, I think he would make a good showing. He, in my opinion, has the best chance of pulling off a cross-party win.

I really respected the Admiral and everything he had accomplished in his life, but he did look horribly out of place on the campaign trail. He was dozing off, he had a hard time hearing (especially after having his ear drums busted by the NVA), and often seemed confused during questioning. He was a fantastic man and leader, but his time for being a VP had passed.

Ron Paul is a loon! Don't forget that he only had the most favorable candidate status from the media because of his stands against the war. They never bothered reporting on all his kookiness. With all the anti-McCain sentiment out there, if Paul actually had a following, he would be scoring huge right now.

I agree that Paul is a loon, but he had a huge following of devoted supporters - not just Republicans but Democrats as well. But you're probably right, because McCain is reasonably popular with Democrats as well.

There will be a lot of black resentment when the super delegates give Hillary the nomination

What planet do you live on? Hillary is finito. She's already dead and just waiting for someone to tell her how to fall down.

I agree that he has a lot of supporters, even that they are devoted, but he doesn't have a "huge" following. He hasn't gotten more than the low single digits even after everyone else pulled out. His supporters are very vocal and visible, which makes them more noticeable, but their numbers are fairly small in the grand scheme of things.

She'll win big in WV
You said yourself that there is a lot of anti-black resentment among the Dems. The DNC's priority is to take the white house. Hillary is actually leading in the popular vote, an item so many liked to point out during the last couple presidential elections. They can pizz off 80% of the population or 20% of the population and the "popular vote" is their out

FYI - Hillary was given the Democrat nomination last year in a back room deal.

I don't want common sense. I want someone to tell me what I want to hear! I want someone who's going to promise me all kinds of goodies. I want someone who will make me feel good about myself, without making me actually do something.

That's what I want in a leader, and dammit - I deserve it!

Pshhh... common sense.

The point you miss is that no one cares if she wins big in WVA as WVA isn't a big place! It's like coming out of KMart all pumped up that you were able to get four POS's for $10, that cost the store 10 cents, on the Bluelight Special. All of the states that really count for anything are gone. The last six have low vote and delegate counts. Winning 70% of a small population that is 98% white is worse than winning 40% of a huge diverse population if you're hanging your hat on vote count totals. She'll probably win by 30-40 points in WVA, but she'll be winning very little.
