Bob Barr Announces for President

Libertarian Barr announces run for president

Former US congressman Bob Barr on Monday announced plans to run for president on the Libertarian Party's ticket, in a move some analysts say could hurt Republican presumptive nominee John McCain.

I could vote for Barr!

Now THAT is a vote that would make a statement.

It'll be interesting to see how the money goes on this.

Barr said he was running because there was not "currently or anywhere on the horizon" any candidate who understood the principles of fiscal conservatism and basic principles on which he said America was founded.
He got that right

If the money rolls in enough to make him a viable candidate, this could get interesting. It makes me wonder though, as Perot looked like a decent third party candidate, and then look what happened. Eight years of a President who only got a plurality of the popular vote. UGH

I hope this candidacy can get traction. I admire the guy and hope he's got the money and folks on the ground to make it happen. He's far better than the other candidates from which to choose.

The big dollar donors didn't give to McCain, so it'll be interesting if they open the checkbooks for Barr.

Could happen IF he's got an organization to get him on the ballot in all the states and enough money for advertising.

I heard Barr talking about this last month on Neal Boortz's radio show. It would certainly be a viable alternative to what's out there now if he can get things rolling money-wise, etc.

Barr...

...was one of the first casualties in the collapse of the Newt revolution.

It is going to be an absolute gas listening to the left call John McCain a conservative all fall.

Barr is one of the good guys.
