McCain pledges to combat climate change

"PORTLAND, Oregon (Reuters) - Republican John McCain, differing sharply with President George W. Bush, said on Monday he would pursue mandatory U.S. curbs on greenhouse gas emissions if he wins the White House in November.

The Arizona senator vowed to take the lead in combating global climate change, seek international accords to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and offer an incentive system to make businesses in the United States cleaner.

"The facts of global warming demand our urgent attention, especially in Washington," McCain told an audience at the Vestas Wind Technology plant in Portland, where he signed the blade of a giant wind turbine and chatted with service technicians."

Pandering to the whacko's who wont vote for him anyway. All three of these dipsticks are into the envirowhacko mode. For McCain its a stupid move, he will lose more than he will gain with this horsecrap.

John...

...McCain declares war on the sun!

Just as soon as we are finished 'surging' to nowhere in Iraq and Afghanistan, US troops can look forward to some REAL defense of the nation by attacking the sun and putting a stop to all of this climate change business.

I think this issue makes my point about supporting Obama quite well. Last week when he was in Oregon, Obama was telling a packed house what his plans for saving the environment are. People were going to have to give up their SUVs, they were going to have to give up living in electrical luxury, etc. People are going to have to make a lot of sacrifices, companies are going to have to make a lot of sacrifices, and we will all need to greatly change our lives to save the planet! We're also going to force electric companies to become greener, but they can't pass along the costs to the consumer AND we're going to subsidize the energy bills of the poor! Typical Lib nonsense right? Exactly right! That agenda would never pass the Congress in a million years!

Now look at McCain's views... ratify the failed Kyoto agreement, play with the lightbulbs, make cars more fuel efficient (and less safe), make carbon credits the law of the land, and oh yeah... maybe look for more oil or nuclear power somewhere down the road. That plan would also be bad for America, but that would pass the Congress with the Dems in control.
