Edwards to Endorse Obama - Page 2

Just out of curiosity ('cause I'm too lazy to look it up).

Anyone know of a case of a failed VP linking up with ANOTHER candidate, in another shot at the spot? I gotta think that an Obama/Edwards ticket sounds like a joke to me.

Not the exact situation you describe but FDR was a VP nominee on a loosing ticket prior to his becoming POTUS.

Not only that, but he's a failed presidential candidate, at least what - twice?

There's no way Obama is going to pick Edwards. And he won't pick Hillary Clinton, either - I laughed out loud when I heard that speculation.

My son called me when the announcement was made. He was outraged.

I told him "I never said Edwards was smart, just pretty."

Anyhow Edwards has very little political weight. More people respect his wife's opinion than they do his and I noticed she was not in attendance.

I can't remember if Edwards actaully dropped out of the race or suspended his campain. If he suspended it, than the 19 or so delegates he had will be pledged to Obama. That's more than any other endorsement has done. It'll likely wipe out any net gains Hillary got out of WV or will get out of KY.

I think I remember hearing that this was the case...but I just heard a snippet in passing last night, so I could be wrong.
