Rove slams Obama over 'bitter' comments

Karl Rove launched a wide-ranging attack on Barack Obama during a speech at the National Rifle Association Convention Friday, blasting him for his recent comments calling some small town American's "bitter," and suggesting the Illinois senator is an effete politician unable to connect with a broad swath of Americans.

“You know in the age of Barack Obama I don’t know exactly what to call you, because after all, as he said, because we’re bitter and economically anxious, we ‘cling to our guns and we cling to our faith," Rove told the crowd to laughter and cheers.

"You probably didn't know you hunted out of economic anxiety, and if gas was a $1.50 a gallon, you probably wouldn't be hunting," he continued.

“You probably thought you hunted because you enjoyed the outdoors and companionship with family and friends.”

"We here have news for Barack Obama," Rove said. "The values of those people you diminished are the values of America. And those people don't like getting patronized, or viewed as an alien species, by a fellow who pretends to embody a new kind of politics, and especially by someone who wants to be president not of red states or blue states, but the United States."

Some of us Americans don't like how Karl Rove perceives Americans either. He does not speak for me and patronizing? - oh please - no one is more patronizing than Rove.

It's time to stop comparing Obama to Hitler.

Darth Vader strikes again! So you didn't disagree with Rove's analysis, just that you don't like him?

I don't get that - the left/Dems have this extreme hatred toward Karl Rove and I never understood why. "Agh! I hate that guy," they go, but when you say, really? Why? they have no answer outside of he was Bush's political genius. Then they'll say he looks weird (which he does).

So Dixie, you're a smart person who typically engages your brain and doesn't just knee-jerk. How does Rove perceive Americans, and what is it you dislike about him?

I'm pretty certain that Dick Cheney was the one compared to Darth Vadar and no I totally disagree with Rove.

My impression of how Karl Rove sees Americans is as one party who suscribes to Republican ideals. In my opinion he's a divider who does not care as much about America as he does about winning at any cost.

Even though his remarks about Obama's remarks don't put ME specifically in a particular box - I dislike being told that American values.... are say.......for gun ownership whatever crap goes with it just for instance.....definately not MY values as an American. You may get one group that totally believes in what Rove says and that yes he speaks for us, we are American values and another group that shake their head in disbelief as that's NOT how we feel. Does that make the values of the group that doesn't agree any less American? In my opinion American values are as atypical as Americans themselves.

I'll get back later if I haven't answered your question, I've had knee surgery and I'm on painkillers, really sleepy...

...a little test to prove your not just feeding back some claptrap about Rove;

Tell me one thing he's said that offended you and why.
