That would be unconstitutional.

He'll just tax the living crap out of everything so you can't afford to do anything but what you say, and he'll give the money to the other countries so they can drive SUV's, overeat, ........

I'm inspired. I'll get rid of the SUV and buy a big truck. And I'll turn my thermostat down to 68 for the summer.

Will that inspire China to use less oil?

...you.

People, pay attention; Bru's whole interest in this matter, from the get go, is that Obama win the presidency precisely because he has the least chance of doing us serious harm as a nation. McCain is a greater threat precisely because he has and likely will get things, bad things, done.

18 months of Obama and his...ideas...will, hopefully, send a flood of freshly minted conservatives pouring into DC in 2010. With a little luck, people like Boehner won't be around to poison them right away.

This is predicated on your earlier prediction that Congress will remain Democratic by only the tiniest of threads - that being, the inclusion of newer Democrats who were elected in formerly Republican districts on the premise that they were "moderate" or conservative. Thus, they will refrain from voting on issues that are likely to upset their constituents in order to keep their jobs.

Baloney. Congress stands to tilt even more Democratic this fall as more Republicans simply retire. They should gain enough of a lead that any minor revolt by these newly minted "conservative" Democrats won't matter - they'll pass whatever they want, and Obama will be their rubber stamp.

I think it's supposed to inspire the countries that hate us and wish we would die a fiery death. Make them like us better or something.

Wasn't that one of the Pro-McCain arguments versus Ron Paul?

Ron Paul is too Radical! His ideas will never fly. McCain, on the other hand will get things done! He's the more practical choice!

Now, he'll get things done - but they'll be bad things.

Jeez.
