Actually this leads me to a thought......you would have thought Nixon did irreparable harm to the Republican Party but the next 5 of 8 terms were held by Republicans. Maybe Bush hasn't harmed the Republicans as bad as people think.
Those are both good points.

About Bill:
Democrats have this ugly habit of hanging on to their trash rather than admit they were wrong. Clinton had extremely high approval ratings among Dems during his impeachment hearings - HELLO????? He's the closest they've come since Kennedy to a rock star president, so they were loyal.

Hillary doesn't inspire that type of loyalty because she's a beyotch and even people who adored her charming hubby can't stand her evil ass. She apparently was the hatchet man so Bill could remain affable, which didn't win her any friends.

Bill was the only Democrat president elected to two terms without getting a majority of the popular vote either time... not exactly grounds for cheering.

You could be right about your assessment of Nixon, but I think the more realistic assessment is that Jimmy Carter was so damn bad as President that he made people forget how Nixon had gone out. I expect Obama to more than fill Carter's shoes and make people forget all about how Bad Bush was.

I think a large part of the Democrat party are now taking out the trash, which is why Hillary is losing to a guy who shouldn't have stood a chance against her.

I also don't think the "this ugly habit of hanging on to their trash rather than admit they were wrong" analogy applies to just Democrats anymore. Republicans have been ranting for years about what a POS McCain is, and now many of those who were the most vocal against him, like Hannity and Limbaugh, are holding their noses and beginning to support him.

That will be tough for him to do since Hillary got the nomination
