Yeah... I'll just bet Obama is sitting around thinking how great it would be to have the Clintons as a VP... undermining him 24/7. I'm guessing I'll get the VP offer before Hillary does.

She's staying in this for a reason.

Either she's already made a deal to get the nomination, she has something really ugly on Obama or she's expecting Obama to turn up dead.

She's staying in the race for the same reason Richard Gere stayed at AOCS in An Officer and a Gentleman... "I got nowhere else to go!" The power of the Clintons is based on perception, not reality. Once Hillary is a loser, and people begin to affirm that Bill was a big reason for the loss, there aren't going to be any more $1,000,000 speaker fees... no more big bucks for sitting on boards... and her Senate seat becomes at risk.

She's a SENATOR. She showed up in NY with her carpetbag and they welcomed her into their wallets. Worst case scenario for her is the NY version of Teddy Kennedy

Sure they welcomed her! She was the wife of the first black president, she was the wife of the rockstar president, she was the wife of the most popular Dem at the time, she was the smartest woman in political history! What was not to love about her? She and Bill were invincible king makers back then. But that was then, and when she loses the race all that perception is going to change.

Say what you want about Bill, but he was the only 2 term Democrat President since Trueman. Johnson doesn't count since he wasn't elected the first time around. Kennedy would have probably been a two term President though.

Actually this leads me to a thought......you would have thought Nixon did irreparable harm to the Republican Party but the next 5 of 8 terms were held by Republicans. Maybe Bush hasn't harmed the Republicans as bad as people think.
