I can't believe the GOP is releasing ads and statements criticizing Obama over this, after that speech McCain made about the situation in Iraq. Go back and look, I never made a big deal of it then. I didn't say a word about it. But it seems when McCain makes a mistake and gets some things confused, you guys defend it, but if it's Obama, you people criticize it endlessly.

He misspoke - it happens with everybody. Do you even want to start counting times Bush has misspoken.

Um - I think the MSM & liberal bloggers have done that for 8 years now.

I think it's not really a matter of miss-speaking. It's a matter of pandering. He's out there trying to add to his Obama-magic and make his whole resume & background better than it is/was. Hillary does it, too. So did Albore & John F(ing) Kerry.

McCain actually pokes fun at himself & approve of/agree with him or not - he doesn't act like he was "the fighter pilot/jock" who was all that & a bag of chips+ a coke either. He admits to his being at the bottom of his class & that he wrecked airplanes. He doesn't go out there pandering about ANY of his past service record that I've heard. He doesn't even want to discuss his 2 sons who serve right now. (I don't blame him there, they'll be targets.)

And I'll just say this, too: out of ALL the candidates who've run in the past 8 years - John McCain certainly has the right to bragging rights on his military service, IMO. And yes, it's because he was a POW. (Sorry, if it's just going to make some people wet themselves because they'll have to ignore me in order not to answer!) Doesn't mean he's the one who should be, or will be president, but his military service beats all the others in the past 8 years hands down. And I've not heard him embellish it one time.

We get it. You hate McCain and you're drinking the Obama kool-aid. Should I call you Bruzilla Obama, Brubama or Bruzack Obama? Whichever one works best for you.

Oh, don't mind him - he reads every word, believe it. As much as he loves seeing what he writes - he loves seeing what the replies to what he writes are, too.

He didn't have an Uncle, and American troops didn't go to Auschwitz.

His campaign clarified that it was his great uncle, and that he meant Ohrdruf, said he wouldn't identify the "uncle" because he was old and wanted privacy. An hour later, they named the great uncle.

Now I'm hearing that he didn't even really have a great uncle, but we'll see how that plays out.

Since the first half of his story is pure fabrication, should we even believe the second half? Did this "uncle" really hide in the attic for six months?

Why is this important you may ask? Because of timing. It was Memorial day, and he was trying to pander to Veterans, their families, and Jews. As a veteran, I am offended by his blatant lying and using the holiday in an attempt to gain a few votes.

This does speak volumes about his ability to be President. He said he'll meet with Ahmadinejad, who is a holocaust denier. Yet Obama doesn't know the basic history of the holocaust.

Bru, if you are going to criticize McCain for every weakness, at least be fair about it by applying the same standard to Obama.
I didn't criticize McCain, or Obama, for these gaffes. Show me one politican in all of recorded history, who hasn't gotten facts wrong, who hasn't flubbed lines, who hasn't embellished stories, who hasn't gotten names wrong, or who hasn't misused words. This is a very common occurence for all politicians. It used to drive me nuts when I heard people yacking about every misused word Bush said, but if you listened to John Kerry, he wasn't much better in a lot of his speeches. What I was criticizing was the utter foolishness of the RNC spokespeople who gave Crowly the line "his error shows that he is not fit to be Commander-in-Chief". If they are going to make a declaration that getting some facts wrong is reason to find someone unfit to be C-in-C, you better be damn sure your guy isn't doing the same thing.

In McCain's case, he has been making gaffe after gaffe, and has had Joe Lieberman following along behind him to clean up the messes. That's not a criticism, just a fact. And Obama has been making plenty of gaffes as well. These were embarassing, but by no means show stoppers, but now you have the RNC going on record as saying getting your facts wrong "show that he is not fit to be Commander-in-Chief". That's a sword that cuts both ways, so it's foolish to wield it.

Well... you're partly right. I do hate McCain... actually loathe might be a better word. Think of Jim Kerry as the Grinch when he's reading off the list of Who names as the Grinch. "Hate, hate, hate, L-O-A-T-H-E!" Yep... that's me.

As for Obama, I never really liked the guy, but I was going to vote for him as I feel that his policies would stand zero chance of passing Congress where McCain's will. But now that Barr is the Libertarian Candidate I will be voting for him.

Doesn't matter. I posted the QUOTE from you, too. But then, since you read the post, you knew that.

The "link" portion was really inconsequential, and I think it only got picked up because I quoted your post from someone else's post.

Gotcha. McCain is "forgetting", "confused" and "not very smart" is not criticism.
