Is Obama's candidacy constitutional?

I would think this would be vetted out early but U never know.

Secrecy over birth certificate, demand for 'natural-born' citizenship cited

Bloggers are raising questions about Illinois Sen. Barack Obama's qualifications to be U.S. president, because of the secrecy over his birth certificate and the requirement presidents be "natural-born" U.S. citizens.

Jim Geraghty, reporting on The Campaign Spot, cited the "unlikely" but still circulating rumor that Obama was born not within the United States, but elsewhere, possibly Kenya.

Geraghty defined the concerns most clearly, stating: "If Obama were born outside the United States, one could argue that he would not meet the legal definition of natural-born citizen … because U.S. law at the time of his birth required his natural-born parent (his mother) to have resided in the United States for '10 years, at least [f]ive of which had to be after the age of 16.'"

I'm sure the Clinton camp was all over that if true...

But I would laugh my a$$ off seeming how NObama won his Senate seat by technicalities and used his lawyer tactics to take out his 2 opponents and ran unopposed to win his Senate seat!!!

Here's...

...a grand conspiracy for you;

If it turns out Obama is not eligible for this reason, people on the left will FLIP out and take to the streets and elect him potus anyway. Long story short, to keep the peace, an amendment will be railroaded though congress and approved over the next four years by the statesand in 2012...

President Schwarzenegger.

So, the secret aliens that actually rule the world lined up Obama and got him elected so that they could change the law have one of their own.

Obama was born in Hawaii.

McCain was born in the Panama Canal Zone.

Seriously, can we discuss something else about this campaign, like, um, ya know, issues.

Ummm, he beat the TAR out of Alan Keyes, 70 to 27 per cent - but he was not unopposed.

...we can't. Arnold has never failed to rise to the very top at anything he has tried. I was wondering how he would get it done. Now we know.

Do better research on my statement!!!

How did he win his first election to the Illinois Senate? By GETTING RID OF ALL OF HIS OPPONENTS so he ran unopposed.

"His election to state government was by dirty trick: "He was just 35 when in 1996 he won his first bid for political office. Even many of his staunchest supporters, such as Black, still resent the strong-arm tactics Obama employed to win his seat in the Illinois Legislature. Obama hired fellow Harvard Law alum and election law expert Thomas Johnson to challenge the nominating petitions of four other candidates, including the popular incumbent, Alice Palmer, a liberal activist who had held the seat for several years, according to an April 2007 Chicago Tribune report. Obama found enough flaws in the petition sheets — to appear on the ballot, candidates needed 757 signatures from registered voters living within the district — to knock off all the other Democratic contenders. He won the seat unopposed." "'A close examination of Obama's first campaign clouds the image he has cultivated throughout his political career,' wrote Tribune political reporters David Jackson and Ray Long. 'The man now running for president on a message of giving a voice to the voiceless first entered public office not by leveling the playing field, but by clearing it.'"

I don't believe that there is any truth to this story, but it really should be looked into. If nothing else, to put the rumor to rest.
