Ego-bama, Swallow Some Of That Pride

In his pre-campaign book, "The Audacity of Hope," Barack Obama proclaims, "I find comfort in the fact that the longer I'm in politics the less nourishing popularity becomes, that a striving for rank and fame seems to betray a poverty of ambition, and that I am answerable mainly to the steady gaze of my own conscience."

Yeah, that's why he's hyping the news that he's going to give some kind of speech in front of the Brandenburg Gate in Germany, and has a football stadium booked for his acceptance speech at the Dem convention!

I'm convinced this man is an opportunist who can't keep a promise. The two most well known promises he's made are the refusal to make attack ads and campaign negative - which he has broken AND promised to return to - and the promise to stick to public funding only, which he has broken because when he made that promise, his chances for winning the nomination were bleak.

If making a promise comes out to "well that was a year ago and things are different" then it doesn't mean anything. They might as well just blatantly lie to me, because it doesn't make any difference.

If you think it's bad now, wait and see what happens if this guy gets into office. He's a two faced SOB.

No, I'm pretty much expecting that the next four months of campaign should expose it. What will matter to me is how it gets played out in the media. I also think Obama is very thin-skinned and gets angered easily by criticism. McCain does too, but when you're a grown-up, you get used to it.

Bush Sr. got ripped a new one for breaking the read my lips promise. Why isn't there enough on the air about Obama breaking his public funds promise? Maybe I'm listening to the wrong sources, but I've barely heard anyone criticize him for it.

You know the media won't say anything bad about Oblama. He's their Democraptic candidate.
