...So the hell what? You actually have to accomplish a *little* in life to even come close to "being considered" for an admiralty. While several might want to poke holes in his military career, from my short reading it took considerable character to endure what he did, and achieve what he's done.

Maybe he was "considered" for a Medal of Honor, a Nobel Prize, a Knighthood. Maybe Beatification. Sainthood. So what if it isn't so? I'm never gonna come *close* to consideration.
...about right. Further, all anyone actually has to do is consider a candidates political, and very public, record.

So, McCain;

He is hostile to the first amendment and WROTE and helped pass legislation increasing government control of POLITICAL speech. We can argue what constitutional 'free' speech is or is not all day long, but one thing that is crystal clear is that it for damn sure covers political speech. This is McCain's huge flaw in my book; he wants government control of political speech. This is madness right there and really all I need to exclude a candidate from my consideration. This same issue is why the vast majority of Democrats are of no interest to me; they do not like free speech. At all.

Now, being an Admiral, not being an Admiral, his POW time, being a combat pilot, leader of a squadron, this, that, the other thing prior to politics, does that have something to do, anything to do, a little to do, with his political views? We are all the sum of our life experiences and the one thing all of us learn as we age is that this is not the land of dictators and always getting your own way if you simply have enough raw power. Especially not in politics.

So, whomever McCain might or might not be based on his past experiences, what he IS today is a man who strongly and firmly believes it is better to shut people up than to have to have your thoughts and ideas so thoroughly fleshed out that 'nuisance' political speech and/or attacks can not only be expected, but handled happily as simply part of the job and handled easily through a well thought out mind based on sound constitutional principles and life experiences.

I have no idea why McCain thinks Iraq is important other than to win. 'Win' what? I have no idea what he actually thinks energy policy should be. I do know he is both against and for more domestic oil supply. What does that mean? I have no idea what he thinks about markets and housing and tax policy. Was bailing out fannie and freddy proper or wrong? I haven't a clue what he thinks Social Security needs as it is about to explode in our faces.

I do know that he thinks we should all shut the hell up and just let him lead and I don't like that. I also know that a charming freshman Senator whose life experiences amount to little more than college and community activism and is barely older than me is also a non starter for me as potus.

Thus our, OUR political system.

As I've said before, I voted for McCain in 2000. I was a bigtime McCain supporter, but then I started hearing all rumblings from the Vet and POW communities about his conduct as a POW. Then I saw McCain toss the religious right under the bus, then try to throw the party under the bus by defecting to the Democrats, and I started giving the guy a closer look.

So, if I may make a suggestion, take the list I provided, and dedicate an hour or so Googling all of those "baseless allegations" I made. You'll find plenty of validation... and not using Wiki. Or you can choose to thrive in ignorance and just call people names and deny the truth like some folks on this forum.

Again worthless horsesh!t, when you google mostly all dumbass post and information are from Bruzilla!!!

Bruzilla the war VET ten year E-5 who spent the bulk of his military career looking out the back window of a P-3. His career can be summarized by DEAD WEIGHT!!! If he were a Fleet Sailor which he never was he'd be classified as a waste of 30 gallons of water!!!

WOW! I'm not sure what all that means, but it sounds VERY negative to me!

You just come up, make some insults, and say you've won the argument. Could you be anymore pathetic.

So... let's go through the list again, and you can just make your typical "I don't have to blah, blah, blah" responses to them:

1. McCain's dad ran intergerence for McCain at the USNA that allowed McCain to make it though four years at the USNA being on the Century Club when similar midshipmen got tossed.
2. McCain got orders that are taken by the top 10% of the class when he was 5th from the botton.
3. McCain crashed three aircraft before ever seeing combat.
4. McCain said in a 1973 interview with US News and World Report that after his capture he volunteered to trade military information for medical treatment.
5. McCain gave an offsite interview to Dr. Barral from Cuba in which he bragged about his abilities as a pilot, potential for advancement, and his family's military history in addition to provifing insight into US military command structures.
6. McCain gave several other interviews and made propoganda statements to the Vietnemese.
7. The Navy refused to promote McCain while he was a POW when the policy was to automatically promote POWs when they became elligible for promotion.
8. Despite his claims that he was tortured so badly that he couldn't raise his arms over his head, McCain passes a flight physical and eseat qual and is returned to flight status after being a POW... something that would be impossible for someone who couldn't raise his arms over his head or was severely crippled.
9. The Navy declined to give McCain command of a deploying combat unit and instead only gave him command of a stateside training squadron.
10. McCain got stashed at the Senate instead of going on to a career development billet.

So go ahead smartguy... show me where any of these attacks is wrong. Here, let me save you the trouble of typing your usual BS...

You just hate McCain and you keep making these baseless attacks, and I think you're stupid. There... I schooled you! You might want to read something besides Swank when you're down in mom and dad's basement.
3.

When I googled your accusations against McCain and posted my findings, you refused to back up your claims.

Let's all talk about...

When I posted about Jerry Zeifman, Bruzilla insulted me & claimed my information was wrong, and that Zeifman was a loon. I Googled it and posted MORE information and yet Bruzilla did the same thing.

OH, and guess who appeared on Dan Calabrese's (author of the article on Jerry Zeifman) website - North Star Writers Group Forum?

In my original reply to his comments I did ask for more information as I couldn't find ANYTHING pro or con about some of his information. I didn't even get that. I did notice he's changed his wording slightly such as without his father's influence he would have been kicked out of the Academy for having more than 100 demerits in a year, etc. But basically, it's the same rant. He insists we find the information and when we do, he ignores it.

Just a blind spot for him, I'm sure I have enough of my own of which I'm unaware.

In one of Bru's rants, he says only one POW with McCain supports him. I found another one which I posted earlier so that makes two.

Here's another: James H. Warner is a retired attorney. He was a policy advisor to President Ronald Reagan from 1985 until 1989. He was a Marine officer in Vietnam and was held as a POW, in North Vietnam, for five and a half years.
