So, McCain; He is hostile to the first amendment and WROTE and helped pass legislation increasing government control of POLITICAL speech. We can argue what constitutional 'free' speech is or is not all day long, but one thing that is crystal clear is that it for damn sure covers political speech. This is McCain's huge flaw in my book; he wants government control of political speech. This is madness right there and really all I need to exclude a candidate from my consideration. This same issue is why the vast majority of Democrats are of no interest to me; they do not like free speech. At all. Now, being an Admiral, not being an Admiral, his POW time, being a combat pilot, leader of a squadron, this, that, the other thing prior to politics, does that have something to do, anything to do, a little to do, with his political views? We are all the sum of our life experiences and the one thing all of us learn as we age is that this is not the land of dictators and always getting your own way if you simply have enough raw power. Especially not in politics. So, whomever McCain might or might not be based on his past experiences, what he IS today is a man who strongly and firmly believes it is better to shut people up than to have to have your thoughts and ideas so thoroughly fleshed out that 'nuisance' political speech and/or attacks can not only be expected, but handled happily as simply part of the job and handled easily through a well thought out mind based on sound constitutional principles and life experiences. I have no idea why McCain thinks Iraq is important other than to win. 'Win' what? I have no idea what he actually thinks energy policy should be. I do know he is both against and for more domestic oil supply. What does that mean? I have no idea what he thinks about markets and housing and tax policy. Was bailing out fannie and freddy proper or wrong? I haven't a clue what he thinks Social Security needs as it is about to explode in our faces. I do know that he thinks we should all shut the hell up and just let him lead and I don't like that. I also know that a charming freshman Senator whose life experiences amount to little more than college and community activism and is barely older than me is also a non starter for me as potus. Thus our, OUR political system.

When I googled your accusations against McCain and posted my findings, you refused to back up your claims. Let's all talk about...

| In my original reply to his comments I did ask for more information as I couldn't find ANYTHING pro or con about some of his information. I didn't even get that. I did notice he's changed his wording slightly such as without his father's influence he would have been kicked out of the Academy for having more than 100 demerits in a year, etc. But basically, it's the same rant. He insists we find the information and when we do, he ignores it. Just a blind spot for him, I'm sure I have enough of my own of which I'm unaware.

| In one of Bru's rants, he says only one POW with McCain supports him. I found another one which I posted earlier so that makes two. Here's another: James H. Warner is a retired attorney. He was a policy advisor to President Ronald Reagan from 1985 until 1989. He was a Marine officer in Vietnam and was held as a POW, in North Vietnam, for five and a half years. The Herald-Mail
