Rational is not what's at issue. Terrorists are CALCULATING. Now is the perfect time to strike due to the economy. The only reason they wouldn't strike is if they want Obama to become president because I can guarantee a strike before the election WILL result in McCain victory.

certainly history tells us that this must happen in order for bush to go out saying, see, I told you so..

I say within a 2 week time frame. far enough from the elections to spin the situation, yet close enough to be really fresh in the publics mind.

For awhile, whenever Bush's rating went down, the threat level would suddenly rise just to remind us that our country still exists because of GW Bush.
