Do Facts Matter?

Abraham Lincoln said, "You can fool all the people some of the time and some of the people all the time, but you can't fool all the people all the time."

Unfortunately, the future of this country, as well as the fate of the Western world, depends on how many people can be fooled on election day, just a few weeks from now.

Right now, the polls indicate that a whole lot of the people are being fooled a whole lot of the time.

The current financial bailout crisis has propelled Barack Obama back into a substantial lead over John McCain-- which is astonishing in view of which man and which party has had the most to do with bringing on this crisis.

It raises the question: Do facts matter? Or is Obama's rhetoric and the media's spin enough to make facts irrelevant?

Sowell is a jackhammer on this one, driving the head of the nail through the floor.

Thomas Sowell :: Townhall.com :: Do Facts Matter?

The media alone are not alone in keeping the facts from the public. Republicans, for reasons unknown, don't seem to know what it is to counter-attack. They deserve to lose.

But the country does not deserve to be put in the hands of a glib and cocky know-it-all, who has accomplished absolutely nothing beyond the advancement of his own career with rhetoric, and who has for years allied himself with a succession of people who have openly expressed their hatred of America.

I have said on here and to everyone I converse politics with, It's a fact that democrats HATE facts and avoid them like the plague.

Facts get in democrats way.
Facts debunk almost every democrat argument.
Democrats refuse to research facts (look at any stool or nonno post).

One of my good friends (she knows who she is ) still thinks Bush controls oil prices. One day she will see the light.

Pretty much everybody knows it's Republican DeRegulation that has let Wall Street run wild.

Hey, ninth straight month of job losses!!!

Time for a change, vote Obama if you want to work, after all, there isn't anything more economically fundamental than having a job.

McCain just abandoned Michigan because he's starting to run out of KoolAid.

McCain abandoned Michigan because it would be like him wasting his money in Baltimore. you just cant get through to idiots.
Hey, Maybe obama will sue some more banks for not making bad business decisions and we can do this again.
or maybe, he will just decide its time for the much hated white folks to just give everything they own to the democrats pets.

A perfect example of not letting facts get in the way

Pretty much everybody? I guess just the morons who swallow the talking points from DU, DailyKooks and the DNC.

Fact one - McCain’s attempt to fix Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac in 2005; Update: Obama can’t get AIG right

Fact two - Bush and McCain Proposed Oversight of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac 2005

Fact three - New Agency Proposed to Oversee Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae - New York Times 2003

Forestool, I know fourth graders who have a better command of the facts in this case than you do. Do a little independent thinking for a change. Note the dates and the person responsible for blocking oversight - Barney Frank.
